Carrbridge Primary School steps up for capercaillie

They danced. They drew and with bags of determination they completed the Capercaillie Challenge; over 60 capercaillie champions in the making.

Quick to respond to an offer from Emma, their Capercaillie Community Ranger, Carrbridge Primary School enjoyed a fun packed day of activities this spring.

From sensory opportunities feeling capercaillie feathers to the chance to dance like a male capercaillie strutting his stuff in the woods. Pupils of all ages took part in the day to learn more about their local capercaillie and what we can all do to help look after them.

As a lasting memento, the school have displayed some of the artwork created by pupils and stapled their colours to the mast declaring that …

‘In Carrbridge we care about our Capercaillie!’
